Iran and the United States have completed their opening round of direct negotiations in Switzerland, with mediation from Qatar and Pakistan, focusing on implementing a recently signed interim agreement aimed at resolving regional tensions.
Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian announced on Sunday that US$6 billion in frozen assets deposited in Qatar will be returned to Tehran following an initial agreement with the United States to ease regional tensions and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
