Malaysia Removes Over 11,600 Deepfake Items as AI Misuse Complaints Surge Eightfold
Malaysia has removed more than 11,600 pieces of deepfake and false content since 2024 following complaints to the MCMC. Deepfake-related complaints have surged eightfold, from 917 cases in 2024 to 7,967 by mid-June 2025.
