Japan Launches Intellectual Property Body to Combat Premium Crop Theft Abroad
Japan will establish a specialized agency by August to protect its premium agricultural varieties from unauthorized overseas cultivation. The move follows discoveries that seedlings from about 50 Japanese crop varieties have leaked to China and South Korea.
